# IN\_APP\_LEGAL\_SUMMARY

*This is a friendly summary, not the legal document itself. For the full details, see our* [*Privacy Policy*](broken://pages/04c9d8f40103b03ffd38ba8d6aa0e73d88075a7b) *and* [*Terms of Service*](broken://pages/2168088ee600837fc16ada009178ec7fc1c91b94)*.*

Here's the short version of how SOL-E works and what we do with your data:

* **You need an account.** We store your email and the progress you make in the app (Flares, streaks, missions, your pet, game scores) so it's all there whenever you come back.
* **Location is used for the map — only while you're using it.** If you use the Walk or Map feature, we use your GPS to show nearby rewards and verify your steps happened outdoors. We never track your location in the background or when the app is closed.
* **Step tracking uses your phone's built-in step counter** to power daily goals and rewards. You control this permission in your device settings at any time.
* **You can watch ads for bonus rewards — it's always optional.** We use Google AdMob for rewarded video ads. You never have to watch an ad to enjoy the app.
* **We collect basic usage data** (crashes, feature usage) to fix bugs and make SOL-E better. We don't build advertising profiles from it.
* **Flares have no real-world value.** They're a virtual, in-app reward only — they can't be cashed out, traded for money, or exchanged for cryptocurrency. If we ever add blockchain features down the line, that'll be a separate, clearly-labelled thing with its own terms — not a silent change to what you already have.
* **You're always in control of your account.** You can request deletion any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account, and we'll remove or anonymise your personal data.
* **Nothing here is a promise of investment or financial return.** SOL-E is a game and wellness app, not a financial product.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://sol-e.gitbook.io/sol-e-docs/legal/in_app_legal_summary.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
